The second season of Squid Game will pick up immediately after the end of the first season, with the main character Seong Gi-hun threatening the person on the other end of the line, determined to discover who is organizing these games. Netflix provided a sneak peek of SQUID GAME SEASON 2, which is set to premiere this year. Along with the teaser, Netflix publicly confirmed that the second season will arrive on its platform sometime this year. This announcement isn’t the first time that Netflix has revealed the release window for Squid Game’s second season.
In its recent financial report, Netflix discreetly announced that Squid Game, along with other shows like Bridgerton season 3, is set to be released in 2024. News about Squid Game’s second season has been scarce since Netflix announced the renewal of the South Korean series for another season. Last June, Netflix revealed that the season 1 stars, Lee Jung-jae, Lee Byung-hun, Wi Ha-jun, and Gong Yoo, would all be returning for the second season. They also confirmed the actors joining the next season are Yim Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Park Sung-hoon, and Yang Dong-geun.
All that’s left now is to wait for a full trailer that specifies the release date. With a 40-year addiction to video games, he only escapes it occasionally to mourn his defeats on Twitter.
